Discovering the essence of Ibiza goes beyond its club openings and bustling nightlife. Though if that's your thing, it's here for the taking. Enjoying Ibiza in the summer can be a journey through its rich cultural tapestry, artistic fervour, and natural beauty. Because life doesn't stop after the club openings, here are some of the standout plans you can enjoy this summer 2024 in Ibiza.
Live the San Juan night
Let's talk parties, but not clubbing this time. It's a very Spanish tradition, especially along the Mediterranean coast. San Juan Night, celebrated from June 23rd to 24th, kicks off summer with beach bonfires, fireworks, and concerts. It's a night when the island buzzes with energy, bringing locals and tourists together in celebration.
Ibiza and art: Bloop Festival and CAN Art Fair
If you're into art and you're visiting Ibiza, keep an eye on this summer's schedule: Bloop Festival and CAN Art are back for another year. Held annually during July and August, these two events have undoubtedly attracted many important figures from the art world to our island. CAN Art Fair (Contemporary Art Now) will take place this year from June 26th to 30th, 2024, showcasing works from some of the most established and emerging artists in the contemporary art scene. As for Bloop Festival, we don't have an exact date yet, but it usually happens in August. This festival brings a street art vibe, creating true works of art on some of the island's building facades.
Mind-blowing burgers at 666 restaurant
Burger lovers are in luck if they're traveling to Ibiza this season: in this paradise, there's a burger joint that will take you straight to the underworld. It's called 666 x Ryans, a restaurant exclusively created by La Buena Muerte for our hotels. You'll find two locations: one at Ryans Ibiza (Playa d'en Bossa) and another at Ryans Lola's (San Antonio). Their smash burgers are out of this world, and they're open all day, so there's no excuse.
Festes de la Terra
Experience Ibiza's most local celebration at the Festes de la Terra, a celebration of the island's vibrant culture and traditions that coincides with August 8th, the day of San Ciriaco. You'll find concerts and leisure activities throughout various areas of Ibiza city, usually at Vara de Rey, Parque Reina Sofía, or Plaza del Parque. Pssst… An extra and very exclusive tip for these dates: you have to try the San Ciriaco cake made at Can Vadell bakery in Ibiza. It's a dessert with a secret recipe that they only make for this festival. It's amazing!
It's always a good time to visit Formentera
Venture beyond Ibiza's shores to the idyllic island of Formentera, where time seems to stand still amid blue waters and white sands. Spend a leisurely day exploring hidden coves, charming villages like Sant Francesc, or simply soaking up the sun in good company at the famous Illetes.
Outdoor club and disco parties
It's not all indoor clubbing in Ibiza. Given the good weather and high temperatures in summer, there's always an appetite for a good outdoor party. And we've got plenty of those too! Check out the parties at Cova Santa, Destino Pacha Ibiza, or even Ushuaïa. Their lineups are usually extensive, and you'll always find parties to suit your taste.
Water sports: speed or serenity enjoying Ibiza's sea
Ibiza has a lot to offer in terms of water sports! The island is perfect for unleashing your adventurous spirit with a variety of water activities. From snorkeling in crystal-clear waters to the famous “Seabob” a curious water vehicle ideal for adrenaline junkies. You can also discover the island's underwater wonders through a diving baptism or embark on a sunset kayak tour.
Boat Party with friends
Experience the Ibiza party scene from a different perspective, aboard a boat! You'll find tours all over the island, though they usually concentrate in San Antonio or Playa d'en Bossa. With live music, refreshing cocktails, and plenty of people eager to have a great time, it's an unforgettable experience you shouldn't miss.
A classic: Ibiza's Hippie Markets
A direct trip to the most bohemian Ibiza. Hippie markets, where a spirit of freedom and endless creativity abounds, have been very famous on the island for years. The most well-known are located in the San Carlos area, such as Las Dalias, where in addition to artisans and vendors, you'll also find a wide variety of concerts and entertainment. Other markets include: Punta Arabí Hippie Market (Es Canar) or Cala Llenya.
Don't miss the cinematic sunsets
As the day fades, don't hesitate to immerse yourself in the hypnotic beauty of Ibiza's sunsets, a spectacle that transcends time and space. Whether it's from the mystical and legendary Es Vedrà or the golden tones of Cala Conta, each sunset paints a masterpiece on the island's horizon. This is an image you definitely want to take with you after your visit to Ibiza.
After going through the list of season highlights, not bad, right? Variety is the spice of life, and we're sure that among so many plans, you'll find plenty that suit you and your companions. Enjoy the island!
